In October 2014, a new initiative began for CALS to develop a global basic life support course. Instructors from Africa and Haiti converged in Minneapolis, Minnesota to take the CALS Provider Course, Trauma Module and Instructor Course as a foundation to produce a CALS Global course.
After many months of hard work, CALS is ready to launch this new training program, called Global Comprehensive Basic Life Support, in Cap Haitien, Haiti, on May 20-22, 2015.
Haiti Medical Education Project (HME) and Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) are partnering to bring this new training in emergency care to Haiti. HME will translate the course curriculum into French.
