CALS Essentials

CALS Essentials is a customized, team-based educational course uniquely suited for resource-constrained environments outside of the United States.

CALS Essentials consists of airway management, trauma, obstetrics, cardiology, pediatrics, adult medicine, orthopedics and disaster management. The course curriculum is based on drugs and equipment that are commonly available to the front line global provider.

The course has been designed and developed by a group of volunteer CALS instructors from the United States, Haiti and Africa. The curriculum for this course has been translated to French, and the course is ready to launch in Haiti and then will be presented in Kenya.

This is a mission-driven initiative of CALS and depends entirely on in-kind and donated funds and supplies. To find out more about this course, contact CALS Executive Director Ann Gihl at ann.gihl@calsprogram.org

Please Support CALS’ Global Efforts

CALS is making a difference every day to improve rural emergency care in locations where there is lack of, or limited access to, subspecialty health care providers and/or technologically advanced diagnostic equipment. Your generous support means the world to us now more than ever.

CALS partners with GiveMN—an online giving website for Minnesota nonprofits—to accept your gifts.

You can donate to our general fund or designate your gift to our CALS Global Fund. Thank you!
